Kalacakra, taking their name from Tantric Buddhism, meaning wheel of time, was a short-lived duo founded by multi-instrumentalists Claus Rauschenbach and Heinz Martin, privately issuing a lone release - Crawling To Lhasa, before drifting from view. Kalacakra was a s German psychedelic underground band formed by the duo Claus Rauschenbach and Heinz Martin. Their sound carried a heavily eastern influence, with a lot of flute, sitar and percussions, and their style has been described as "mantric acid folk." "Kalacakra" refers to a Tibetan Buddhist concept of "time-cycles." The band released its only album, Crawling To Lhasa, in Kalacakra's Crawling to Lhasa includes six tracks which are all pretty lengthy. My personal favourite might be the raga rock piece "Raga No 11" which is just brilliant. The A-side is a bit stronger than the B-side in my opinion but overall this is a pretty balanced effort/5().
